There’s joining a gym, and there’s joining a David Lloyd Club. You’ll get to enjoy an excellent gym with us, of course, but there can be so much more to it than that.
The range of different facilities means you can put together your perfect experience with every visit – whatever your mood and how much time you have. Maybe you fancy a swift yoga and coffee morning; perhaps you want to combine an afternoon of weights with working from the Clubroom; or maybe you’re looking forward to a full day of much-needed family time at the weekend.
There are so many combinations to try. That’s why we asked some of the David Lloyd Clubs team around the UK and Europe to come up with their perfect day at a Club.
Harley, David Lloyd Hatfield, during the week
6:00am: Get to the Club in my gym gear and head to the changing rooms to drop my bags off.
6:15am-7:45am: Heavy powerlifting session, avoiding the treadmills but admiring the runners.
7:45-8:00am: Quick shower to look more human.
8:00am-12:00pm: Morning stint in the Clubroom, with multiple coffee orders, and a lovely poached eggs and avo on toast to fuel the day.
12:00-13:00: A lunchtime class or a quick walk in the gym to keep the steps up.
13:00-16:00: Afternoon stint, potentially in the business lounge if I fancy a switch up. And a smoothie, as coffee after 12pm isn’t always a smart move for me.
16:00: Hitting the spa to relax

Early morning: Arrive at the club and order an avocado toast with a fresh fruit juice and coffee for breakfast. I eat it on the terrace.
Morning: I work remotely from the lounge on the upper floor.
Late morning: Before lunch, I go to the pool to relax my back a bit – if it’s summer, in the outdoor pool! – and after a shower, I head to the restaurant to order from the daily menu.
Afternoon: I continue working for a little while longer, and in the late afternoon, I play tennis – I’m super-bad at tennis but I enjoy playing anyway. And after the match, I’ll have a beer on the terrace!
Cassie, David Lloyd Liverpool Speke, at the weekend
Just before 9:00am: Arrive at the Club and drop the kids into DL Kids for a double class – their favourite classes are Skate Squad and Dodgeball.
Morning: While they’re in DL Kids, I’ll be shaking my hips in a dance fusion class following by a bums, legs and core class.
Late morning: I’ll pick them up from DL Kids and we’ll all go for a dip and splash in the pool.
Lunchtime: Once we’ve got ourselves dry and changed into our tracksuits we’ll head to the Clubroom, where the boys will order pizza and I’ll have my favourite – avocado and poached eggs on multigrain sourdough.
Post-lunch: Before we leave the boys always want a little treat for the car journey home. I’m a complete pushover and end up buying them cookies and strawberry Happy Monkey milkshakes.

7:00am: Arrive already changed, ready for the workout of the day or BLAZE.
8:00am: Get changed ready for work at my computer.
10:00am: Having breakfast, my favourite granola yogurt, tomato toast and tea.
10:30am: Time for work again. I go to the office with the team and set up my laptop.
12:30pm: Yoga class with a great teacher, to strengthen my body and clarify my mind.
13:30: Ready for more work.
15:00: Pick up lunch in the Clubroom with colleagues.
Dan, David Lloyd Hatfield, at the weekend
9:00am: Arrive and run to the tennis courts. Drop my 4-year-old son at his tennis lesson. Head back through to the Clubroom to sit and have coffee and breakfast… alone, and in peace.
10:00am: Collect son from tennis, feed him pancakes in the Clubroom and debrief on how many balls he managed to smash over the net (usually it’s only one).
10:30am: Drop 4-year-old at ‘Let’s Play’ class and then head to IGN1TE to sweat for 45 minutes.
11:30am: Favourite time of the day – swimming together. Thirty minutes in the indoor heated swimming pool, where son wants to ride on my back in the baby pool.
12:30pm: Feast on a delicious lunch together in the Clubroom.
13:30: Head home (for a nap).
Hannah, David Lloyd Kensington, during the week
![Treadmills at a David Lloyd Club.](https://blog.davidlloyd.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Treadmills.jpg)
8:00am: Arrive and head to the changing rooms to stash my stuff in a locker before heading to the gym.
8:15-8:45am: Walking workout on a treadmill. My favourite cardio is outdoor running, but I also like treadmill challenges, particularly when the weather isn’t good – at the moment I’m doing the TikTok-famous 12-3-30.
8:45-9:00am: Quick shower, change into a more work-appropriate outfit (not keen on appearing on video calls in my sweaty gym kit), use straighteners for some essential hair maintenance.
9:00am: Time for work. I scope out a comfortable spot in the Clubroom and set up my laptop. There’s a dedicated business lounge where I’ll go when I really need to focus, but normally I choose the main Clubroom – I like having the life of the Club go on around me while I’m working.
10:00am: Coffee break – ordered to my table using the app.
12:30pm: Vinyasa yoga class – my favourite type of yoga, and the instructors here are all brilliant. The classes are 45 minutes, so that gives me time to change before and after.
13:30: Lunch in the Clubroom.
14:00: Getting on with more work.
17:00: Quick swim in the indoor pool, followed by time in the sauna.
Melissa, David Lloyd Hatfield, during the week
12:30pm: Head into the Club after WFH in the morning, the change of scenery helps keep me focused and motivated.
13:00: Order my favourite Fajita Style Salad on the app and continue working from the Clubroom, I like to sit on the booths near the window next to the tennis courts.
15:00: After cracking on for a full two hours, I deserve a coffee so I order a mocha.
17:30: Finish work and head to the changing rooms. My favourite class is BLAZE, which usually starts around 5:45pm.
18:30: Get changed into my swim stuff and head to the spa, usually I sauna, plunge and then steam three times and increase amount of time spent in each.
19:30-20:00: I’ll then shower, wash my hair and take advantage of the GHD hair dryer and straighteners, as well as the Elemis body lotion. I try to take my time as I see this as my ‘me time’ and part of my self care. I’ve been trying to enjoy the slow moments lately.
20:00: Leave the Club to go home.
