One of the many advantages to joining a gym is having access to a wide variety of great kit. With so many different pieces of equipment to experiment with, boring, repetitive and ineffective workouts quickly become a thing of the past.

To help you get to grips with some key equipment at David Lloyd Clubs, we asked our experienced Personal Trainers to demonstrate the correct way to use it.

In this series of videos, find out how to use 3 different pieces of equipment that will improve your cardiovascular fitness, develop a healthy heart and promote endurance.

Let’s get started!

The Woodway Curve Treadmill

While most of us might be familiar with the standard treadmill, many David Lloyd gyms are also equipped with the Woodway Curve. Unlike a regular treadmill, it’s powered by you. This means you burn more calories, work on your core strength and build power in the legs. Watch Jack from David Lloyd Derby show us how to use this treadmill safely and effectively.

The Power Mill

The Power Mill is essentially a rotating staircase that will raise your heart rate in mere minutes, improving your cardiovascular health and working those legs. Just ask anyone who’s climbed a big set of stairs, this is a killer! Watch as Holly, a personal trainer at David Lloyd Chorley, talks us through the Power Mill.

The battle ropes

While battle ropes are excellent for strengthening the core, shoulders, arms and legs, they also provide a great cardio workout and stress reliever. Watch Personal Trainer Jack illustrate two popular exercises to do on the ropes.

There’s so much equipment to include in your workout at David Lloyd Clubs. If you have any questions about any of the equipment in your local club, one of the trainers on the gym floor will be happy to help. Find your nearest gym and start your fitness journey today!
