One of the advantages of gym membership is that you get access to a wide variety of equipment – meaning you can do different types of workout under one roof.
At a typical gym you’ll find the right kit to help you work on your strength, flexibility and cardio endurance. That’s certainly true of our gyms at David Lloyd Clubs!
We asked some of our experienced Personal Trainers to demonstrate the correct way to use our cardio equipment. You may think you know how to use a treadmill – but have you tried a Woodway Curve? Do you know the correct form for battle ropes?
Let’s get started with a cardio demonstration!
The Woodway Curve treadmill
While most of us might be familiar with the standard treadmill, many David Lloyd Clubs gyms are also equipped with the Woodway Curve. Unlike a regular treadmill, it’s powered by you. This means you burn more calories, work on your core strength and build power in the legs. Watch Jack from David Lloyd Derby show us how to use this treadmill safely and effectively.
The PowerMill Climber
The PowerMill Climber is essentially a rotating staircase that will raise your heart rate in mere minutes, improving your cardiovascular health and working those legs. Watch as Holly, a Personal Trainer at David Lloyd Chorley, talks us through the PowerMill.
Battle ropes
While battle ropes are excellent for strengthening the core, shoulders, arms and legs, they also provide a great cardio workout and stress reliever. Watch Personal Trainer Jack illustrate two popular exercises to do on the ropes.
