Every year at David Lloyd Clubs we host our Tennis Stars National Championships. This much-loved competition brings together children of all ages from our Tennis Stars programme to compete against one another in the hope of helping their club become overall winners.
What makes the competition unique is that players in each age group can play together, representing their club as a team. The groups are Red (5-8), Orange (8-9) and Green (9-10).
How it works
The event kicks off with individual club champions being crowned for each age group. After that, these winners are put in a team to represent their club in one of eight regional rounds.
The regional rounds are broken down into matches: boys’ singles, girls’ singles, and mixed doubles. All of these are run over the three age groups.
Following the regional rounds, the winning teams compete in the National Finals, battling it out to be overall champions.
The current champions
David Lloyd Cambridge are the reigning champions, although David Lloyd Gloucester (2021 winners) are definitely looking to come back and regain their title. Don’t worry about the runners up missing out – all our players receive prizes, thanks to our partner, HEAD. Here at David Lloyd Clubs, everyone’s a winner!

“The tournament was fun and inclusive for the three age groups. It was great to see the children and parents come together who thoroughly enjoyed the experience and played for, supported each other as a club and team.”
