David Lloyd Clubs offers a wide range of fun activities to keep your kids active, healthy and happy. Among our most popular children’s activities are David Lloyd Clubs Swim and Tennis Stars, coaching programmes that are geared towards teaching kids the basics of each sports in a fun and safe environment.
Swim Stars
Our kids swimming programme teaches children from the ages of 3 months – 11 years the fundamentals of swimming in a fun and safe teaching environment. Endorsed by the Amateur Swimming Association, the programme follows the structure and approach of the Swim England Learn to Swim programme.
The Swim England programme is the number one national swim teaching syllabus for all ages, where kids are taught through a fun games-led approach, and encouraged and rewarded with certificates and badges as they progress and move forwards. Developed by swimming experts and structured around different age groups, it is the most successful swimming programme for children in the UK, which is exactly why we’ve adopted its format in our Swim Stars classes.
Using this foundation, David Lloyd Clubs Swim Stars lessons are based on fun, structured activities that work to teach kids the basics of swimming and water safety. Our classes are run by expert teachers (who are all Swim England Qualified), and we make sure groups remain small so that kids receive the individual attention they need.

Tennis Stars
The David Lloyd Clubs Tennis Stars programme offers tennis coaching for children aged 3 – 10 years. Endorsed by the Lawn Tennis Association, it provides kids with progressive and structured tennis skills, development, fun, fitness, and social interaction, all in one!
The programme is divided into five age groups: under 5s, 5-8, 8-10, and 10-12. Each group plays with different balls and racquets on different size courts depending on their age – this makes sure they are able to do things like have longer rallies, attack and defend, approach the net, try drop shots and develop a good all-round game.
Not only are kids taught progressive physical, technical, tactical and sportsmanship skills, but they also:
- Compete on a scaled down court that is appropriate to their size, strength and ability.
- Develop tactical awareness from an early age while learning good technical skills.
- Develop competitive and mental skills to help them progress their tennis.
- Progress to full tennis in a system that is appropriate to their developmental needs.
- Compete under the same conditions which will allow effective talent ID to take place.
If your child is interested in learning tennis or swimming, then Swim and Tennis Stars are the perfect place to start. Find your nearest David Lloyd club here and get in touch.
