The morning playlist: The best music to uplift and inspire

The effects of music on our mood are well documented. Numerous studies have found that listening to music can boost both our positivity and our performance. And that’s particularly true if we’re facing stressful situations. With that in mind, why not set yourself up for the day ahead with our uplifting morning playlist?

After all, many of us listen to music for motivation while exercising. Equally, some well-chosen tracks can help us push through other challenges, whether that’s a presentation at work or a long-deferred (and dreaded) life admin day.

Now, of course, musical preference is an individual thing. For example, some people find jazz a life-affirming source of joy; for others, it’s why ear plugs were invented.

With that in mind, we can’t guarantee that everyone will love the morning playlist we’ve put together. However, we think a lot of you will. We’ve carefully chosen a range of instrumental tracks for their uplifting and mood-enhancing properties.

Note that we said ‘instrumental’. There’s evidence to suggest that music with lyrics, delightful as it may be, is more distracting – and we’re hoping you can use the playlist as the backdrop to your morning routine, rather than being the main event.
